What the club says: A superb mixture of parkland and heathland, with stunning views over Lancashire and surrounding counties. The course measure 6409 yards with only two par fives and two par threes (one of which measures over 200 yards), Stand Golf Club represents a fine test for all standards of golfer.
For many years the course has been the envy of the area, with superb fairways and greens. The course is playable all year round. The signature holes are the tough 4th, 9th and 10th, with the par 3 13th a picture in spring being surrounded by bunkers and rhododendron bushes.

Great layout, lovely staff
Always impressed with this course and how much it makes you think and not just blast it anywhere. Pro shop chap great to chat to and helped with some issues with our booking. Its absolutely a course worth visiting, probably from May onwards to give it chance to dry out.Reviewer Rating

Great condition
Very enjoyable & great condition, especially the greens. Came from Romiley GC on reciprocal. One slight gripe, signage could be better for hole 3 , but all 6 of us came away enjoying itReviewer Rating

Lovely course, layout, pro, greens .. A must visit course
Not one hole on this course is boring, every single hole has a different challenge whether thats the tee shot, the approach to the green or the green itself. Lots of dog legs and ravines to negotiate so this is not a course for high handicappers or short hitters as clearing some hazards can be 160 or 170 from the tee. The course is surrounded by huge mansions and lovely views and you never know what delight the next hole holds. In some cases finding the green is the hard part. But for ?37.50 on the fourball deal this is a bargain course. The pro shop guy was a pleasure to deal with and the members helped us out a few times on where to hit and not hit. You think the challenges are over as you near the end of the course, then the 18th arrives and you realise you cannot ever be off your game on this course if you want a good score. We will return next year with our society.Reviewer Rating

Really enjoyable course with a good variety of holes. 14 par 4s may sound a bit dull but it is anything but. Some are short, some are long and it requires a good mix of brain and brawn off the tee. The par 4 8th was a particular highlight. I've played a lot of courses in the North West (of England) this year and Stand is definitely one of my favourites. It also helped that I played well. Handicap 12. Score: 77.Reviewer Rating

Friendly club
On the day because of the recent weather it was really really wet. All the holes were open and considering the weather the course was in good nick. It's very long and a challenge. The members were very friendlyReviewer Rating

Beautiful Sunday
Great course. Front nine easier than back nine where I could not get a level lie on the fairways. Greens very hard to read and a lot of ups and downs on the course. Definitely worth a visit.(Round played: Sep 2019 - Score: 88 Handicap: 10.5)

Stand staning alone in quality
Absolute beautiful course great greens, great fairways some difficult holes for a fade player like me ideal for a draw player. At £17 this was the best value course I have played this year should be £22 per round and still great value(Round played: Aug 2019 - Score: 85 Handicap: 10.6)
