What the club says: Founded in 1904, originally owned by Napier Miles, part of the Kingsweston Estate, the course was bequeathed to the National Trust in 1918. Famous for its connection with Sea and Ships over the years, the course was used by officers and crews from ships docked at Avonmouth. Some 5 miles along the Portway from the centre of Bristol and several hundred feet above the river, it would be difficult to find a more stunning setting. Shirehampton Park has magnificent views across the River Avon, the Gordano Valley and the distant spires of Clifton. The timbered park is a delight to the eye at all seasons of the year.

I have just become a member and very pleased with how friendly everyone was and would recommend others thinking about it, to join as the set up is great. The course was heavy going due to conditions however greens all okay and only a couple of temps.Reviewer Rating

Fabulous course with great views over the river and surrounding area. Greens very tricky and in good condition, fairways fast but first cut off the fairway hid a few balls, having said that the course was being cut as we played. Bunkers have plenty of sand in and are quite difficult to get out of. Members very friendly and also staff in the clubhouse. Can't understand why none of our playing group were given any extra shots. Will always play here, cost was great.

Ok course
Some lovely holes and also some pointless ones , tee boxes terrible condition, bit like a cow field , fairways ok and the greens were good, never seen them that good at shirehampton before so fair play for thatReviewer Rating

Teed off just after 3.30pm and the course was nice and quiet. 1st time playing here and took a little bit of figuring out the layout but a lovely course. Very hilly and took it's toll on my game on the back 9 but will definitely be back to do better.Reviewer Rating

Fantastic course
Both the seniors ladies and gent teams were playing matches away, so we had the course to ourselves. Every hole is different and there are lots of challenges which is great. A few greens look like they are still being set up for summer but seemed to be ok. Lots of new sand in the bunker since we last played here. The only problem we had was finding our ball just off the fairway, it sat down in the grass and you had to pay attention to where it was landing, sounds obvious but... fantastic
I was a guest at the Shirehampton Park today and really enjoyed the course. They did have repair work being done on a few of the greens which did make it slightly difficult but other than that very enjoyable round of golfReviewer Rating

Worth a visit
Nice course very pleasant people, a bit hilly in places but not enough to spoil a round. Although I didn't use the practice area it looked very good(Round played: Jul 2020 - Score: 99 Handicap: 22.7)
