What the club says: Obviously we think we have a fantastic golf course all year round but we'd love you to come and see for yourself and experience the different woodland and heathland aspects of our course.
Have a browse through the library of course images on our website and you'll see it really is a great place to spend your leisure time. Whilst being easy walking, the course is also a fair challenge for golfers of all abilities, with accuracy being the key in a pretty setting to play the game we all love.

Our inclusive Member Club was formed in 1901 and we'd love you to come and join us but you are welcome as a visitor too, bring your friends!

Tired and in need of some investment

I played Newark golf club for the first time yesterday it is a course that has lots of potential but it\'s clearly in need of some investment. \\On a positive note all of the staff that I came into contact with we\'re very friendly and we\'re working hard to provide a good service. We had lovely filling breakfast let\'s set us up for the day.\\Setting of the course it\'s very nice with all the facilities that you could require, although some of the practice facilities are looking a little tired.\\The course is quite heavily tree lined and it requires you to be accurate of the tee in order to score well, not my strong point! The greens in general looked awful and some of the holes were raised up meaning that puts that should have dropped even licked out or stopped just short. There was a lot of cut grass on the course where it appears that the grass had been allowed to grow too long before it was it cut and maintained suggesting that regular maintenance isn\'t as frequent as it should be. The bunkers were unplayable mini had weeds growing in them non-appeared to have sand or at least insufficient sound to call them a bunker many were marked as GUR and we played all of them as GUR. The course is very flat and contains a number of dog legs which require you to think about your club selection off the t but none of the holes really stood out as being particularly memorable.\\Apparently the course is in the process of being purchased by new owners and and it appears that during this transition period the current owners are not willing or possibly able to invest in the maintenance of the course. Let\'s hope that the sale goes through and that the new owners are willing to make this the really nice course it can be.

Society day

The staff where very polite and helpful the breakfast was very good the course is very good the tee boxes were in good condition the course was in in great condition and the greens where brilliant very fast n very true go give it a go u won’t be disappointed

Golf Day. We had a Golf Day booked at Newark GC, the first time i have played this course. A Tight technical course with some challenging par 4's. The Par 5's are reachable for straight hitters. the course was well kept, rough was very short which was a bonus in my view as i was in it abit on the back 9! and the greens were fast but true. One thing that disappointed me slightly was how hard the fairways were. my local parkland courses have had a similar amount of rain but are no where near as hard as this. This made it very difficult to perform any type of flop shot with by 10 degree's of bounce. If playing in late summer, I'd recommend taking low bounce wedges as it played similar to a links course.

Practice areas, putting greens were all exceptional and so was the Bar.

A group of us travelled up from Cambridge and had an excellent day at Newark. The course was picturesque and challenging in equal measure and we will certainly be back.

Party from The Gog Magog GC

On Monday 29 April we enjoyed a splendid day's golf on this challenging course. We were reminded of Kings Lynn GC with many tree lined fairways, plus the further challenge of Out of Bounds seeming to springing up on an almost too regular basis! The greens were in excellent order befitting a Grade 1 course. The steak and mushroom pie afterwards was enough to die for!

It's not too bad... needs a little tlc

Had a decent round d.. food bang on.. clubhouse.. shop and range bang on.. course not great in places but maybe down to the dry weather we've been having .. could do with a trim in a few places round the course...

Definitely one to visit

We had a really great day, good course in excellent condition for the time of year, friendly staff, nice meal.

Wonderful

What an excellent, mature and challenging course this is. A pleasure to play in the company of two members who couldn't have been better company. I would recommend to anyone.

A superb test of golf, a lot of different holes requiring shot making. Greens are excellent.
