What the club says: Being one of the highest courses in the country, Crosland Heath Golf Club enjoys extensive panoramic views across the town of Huddersfield stretching out well in to the old East Riding. To the North, South and West the views are equally spectacular, adding to the treat that is playing this testing heathland course.

Good course, disappointing service...
When we arrived at the course we realised something was afoot as the car park was absolutely rammed. We had to park on the road outside. Upon arrival we were told that we were the first tee time behind the seniors open event and alarm bells really were ringing. We were right too - we walked off over four hours later having only played twelve holes. It was painful. I wouldn't have had an issue with this had we been told upon booking - the choice was then ours. But, after an hour's drive, we had little choice but to give it a go. It definitely wasn't £40 well spent. To their credit, we did email to complain and were offered an apology and a free round. I don't think I would want to travel all that way back.On the plus side, the course was in great nick as stated by many on here. For me, too many criss-crossing holes. Some the holes were like the local high street at times and it did get a bit confusing. The wind was also bonkers as well which, of course, isn't anyone's fault. But the club is very high up so it might always be like this. Not good for a high handicapper like me.

Always great to play
3rd time at Crosland Heath and never fails to impress. Course in great condition, fairways lush, greens rolled well, quite quick in places. Wonderful views all around West Yorkshire and beyond to be had. A few inclines to negotiate but nothing too strenuous. Well worth playing, I'll keep on coming back for sure.Reviewer Rating

Nice course worth playing
First time playing Crosland Heath. Friendly welcome in club house and pro shop. Good practice facilities. Course in great condition, greens rolled well if a little slow. Some of the holes especially par 3s built into a quarry, visually looks great but a lot of crossing of path with other golfers playing other holes, can be a bit confusing and a bit of waiting time for greens or tees to clear, but adds to the quirkiness. Fairly flat course considering it's quite a high course with some great scenery of Yorkshire moors. Well worth playing for sure.Reviewer Rating

Fantastic golfing experience, greens immaculate
This is the third time we have played this course as a society and although it rains every time, the lads still regard it as one of the best courses we have played in seven years of society golf at some of the countries top courses. The layout is quirky and therefore you have to manage your way around carefully avoiding ravines, heather, gorse and various water hazards. The greens were immaculate and I would say are amongst the best we have played anywhere. The par three's are all interesting and beware missing any of the greens on those and the fairways on other holes. There are a few crossover holes but they are easily fathomed and do not interfere with your round too much. For me the holes to enjoy most are holes 1, 3, 9, 10, 16, 18. Imagine missing a par three green and ending up 25 feet down a ravine behind the green, here that can happen! Anyway, pick a good weather day with hardly any wind and try this course out, you will not be disappointed.Reviewer Rating

Afternoon game
I played here with my prospective son in law. Very friendly. Wonderful views from many parts of the course. Dry fairways in excellent condition. Greens smooth and true. Some crossing so pays to be alert. Quite exposed so wind plays a big part. Some holes across rocks and gulleys. For the competent to skilled golfer.Reviewer Rating

Always enjoyable.
Played several times but this was the first visit when all the heather was in bloom. Purple flowers everywhere, stunning. Great course with a real variety of holes, great views too and tricky when the wind blows!Reviewer Rating

Dr. Alister McKenzie course - the man behind Augusta International & Royal Melbourne where Presidents Cup was just played. Very difficult course if you make mistakes. Nice staff and members, very friendly people. Crosland Heath (Maybe one of the greatest courses in England)Reviewer Rating
