What the club says: Chorlton-cum-Hardy Golf Club is a challenging 18-hole parkland course, set in the grounds of historic Barlow Hall. Par 70 with a standard scratch score of 70. The ancient dyke which crosses the course provides a challenging hazard, as does the elevated land of Spion Kop and Barlow Wood.

good course, enjoyable not very forgiving for the higher handicapper

As per the title really, greens were great, definitiley not a boring course and challenged even the lower handicappers well worth a visit.

Better condition, amazing greens especially considering the amount of rain the north west has had in the half of 2023.

First time out in around 7 years. A challenging parkland course for the novice golfer, without too many penalties if you are not in play.

Difficult course!

very challenging course with tight fairways and lots of obstacles.
holes are very close together, sometimes tee-ing off over a green.
every green is surrounded by at least 3 big bunkers and hole 17 has a big tree in the middle of the line!

A challenging course for the amateur golfer where you do get rewarded for good play. Excellent spread of long and short holes that uses the majority of your clubs. Good quality greens which can be read without extensive familiarity.

Played just after a day of rain. Course had drained well. Greens were fast and ground staff were busy cutting tees and fairways.

Rough around the edges

Had heard good things but was a little disappointed. Food was decent before and after but the course was a little shabby in places.
I understand that work had recently been done on the greens so nothing wrong with those but the tee beds weren't good and the bunkers some of the worse I've seen. Didn't look like they had been raked in a while and had piles of sand in some and none in other parts.

Superb test of golf

Second time playing this course. It's a real challenge. Some of the greens are elevated like you wouldn't believe. Fairways are in great condition. The greens aren't the best but the weather hasn't been great. I was behind a women's comp and they wouldn't let me thru which meant my round took me just over 3 hrs. Not a big deal. I shot 85, handicap 17.4. Very pleased considering I played poorly but scored well.
