What the club says: Old Tom Morris (St Andrews) advised on the layout of the course located at Muir of Gart (where Cambusmore sand and gravel quarry is now) and Old Tom was invited to attend the official opening of the Club on the 7th June 1890. Lying at the entrance to the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, the course consists of stylish wooded parkland with panoramic views to Ben Ledi. The 15th is one of the most famous par 3s in Scotland.

Worth a visit if you're in the area as we were. Friendly team and course has some spectacular views but like many suffering from prolonged wet weather. Imagine it will be good after a dry spell!

I played this course a long time ago and it was really great to come back. It's a great course and I'm glad I was able to come back and play it again.

This is a really nice course and my son and I would be delighted if this was our local course. The current lack of of a permanent clubhouse is a shame but the temporary facilities provide the basics. The course was in excellent condition. The locals we met we all very friendly and welcoming. Certainly one course that we will play again when we are next in the area. This would easily rate an overall 10 with a permanent clubhouse.

Beautiful location;Short but challenging

Stunning parkland course at the foot of Ben Ledi. Friendly helpful staff made the visit a very pleasant experience indeed for four Edinburgh golfers. Would highly recommend a game here. Several long par 3 holes favour long but accurate drives. The 17th par 4 is an uphill monster but wide open. Enjoy!

Good short course

Great short scenic course. Fantastic views to Ben Ledi on the back 9. The course is very short with drivable Par4s but this is countered with some tactically placed bunkers and some very long Par3s.

The greens could be in much better condition with some rough patches and a lot of bald spots despite the good weather this year. Much to improve on this front but overall good course and nice facilities. Will be returning!

Good Day Out

Played 36 holes today at Callander. Good little course with some tricky holes. Only downside some of the greens were a bit bobbly. Otherwise an enjoyable days golf. Will play again some time this season

Well worth a visit

Played 36 with lunch as part of a promotional voucher offered by the club via itison. Great value for money.
Course itself is great. Really enjoyed the short but interesting layout. No two holes were too similar and many had outstanding views with mature trees and mountain back drops. There are a few par 3s which are outstanding and wouldn't be out of place on any course. Greens were extremely slow which I didn't like but other than that I would say the course is in good condition. Overall was a great day and would definitely reccommend.

Short but demanding course, fairways were excellent but greens had just been treated as not in great shape, hopefully should improve. Very friendly staff, nice clubhouse.

Not the longest course you will play, there are no par 5's playing off the yellow tees so if you are a big hitter then leave your driver at home. Lots of par 3's which give you food for thought as there isn't what you would call an easy one between them, the signature hole at 15 is a beauty, short par 3 bit of you can't hit it straight you are done for.
The course was in very good condition overall and the greens were excellent.
The staff in the pro shop and in the clubhouse were friendly and welcoming as were the members, overall a very nice day out with 2 rounds and lunch sandwiched in between, will visit again

Excellent. Friendly and helpful staff, lovely course without being too hilly and generally in very good condition. Greens in good condition with some being quite tricky. Just watch the lie on them. Very interesting. Cracking par 3 signature hole. Have played there before which was why we went back and we will go again. Only oddity was that on a hot sunny day that we had, we were not allowed to take our drinks to the seats outside. Have never experienced this before in a private club. Perhaps for safety reasons borne out of experience. did not stop us from enjoying our drinks and a lovely meal to finish the day.
