The 'Jordan Spieth' Putting Drill

By: Golfshake Editor | Mon 31 Jul 2017 | Comments ()

Since his first appearance on the PGA tour, Spieth has always made a name for himself as a brilliant putter. He excels above his fellow professionals because of his constincy in holing out at a remarkbly efficient and effective rate.

James Reeson believes the biggest factor in his ability to do this is down to a drill he has now embedded into his golf game. From inside 10ft Spieth will tend to stare at the hole instead of looking down at the ball like the vast majority of golfers. James believes this allows him to not overthink his goal when stood over the ball, too many golfers will start worrying about grip pressure, pace, line etc.

Alternatively, Spieth just stares at the hole and thinks about the end result of holing the putt. There is no question that Spieths incredible putting skills has something to do with this unorthodox technique. Practicing this as a drill and perhaps incorperating it into your game may be the difference in making more birdie putts.
