I think it's important to qualify this review as being from a member of the course.

Morriston is a short course with only two par 5's and five par 3's, but don't let the distance fool you! Hitting the ball straight is the order of the day around here with narrow tree-lined fairways and some strategically placed drainage ditches keeping you on your toes and a good short game is required if you're going to score well.

The greens at Morriston are always in great condition and, although some parts of the course can get quite wet after heavy rain, on the whole the course holds up well.

In my opinion the facilities, and welcome you receive, in the clubhouse are second to none in the Swansea area, and with reasonable green fees it's well worth a visit if you're in the area.

A tight course and accuracy off the tee is essential to scoring. Stand out hole is the dog leg 5th. Best of the par 3's, of which there are 6, is the 15th: 160 or so yds through a corridor of trees to a slightly elevated green.
On the down side: there is an area where several greens and tees are very close together causing a bit of a log jam, the 17th is long hole that requires walking back the entire length to access the 18th tee.
The course is in a valley and tends not to drain well, so can sometimes play very wet, the greens usually stand up well though.
Nice, modern clubhouse with views over the 18th green and down the fairway that sells reasonably priced, good food.

This is my local course, however, I choose to be a member of a club a few miles further away. ( Pontardawe) I suppose that says more than the previous paragraph.

18 holes on a tight plot, some crossing and a lot of trees. Difficult to score well so a challenge for higher handicap players. Very wet in places as well.
