Adding drainage to greens great
Played 24/10/2024, 1 winter green as drainage being added, winter tees, but still enjoyed this under appreciated gem of a course.Won't be long before all of the greens are sorted.

Mess
We play in the evenings on the way home from work, but unfortunately turned up yesterday and the course was not in good Nick. There were 3/4 winter greens that were appalling, every tee was off winter tees, and the real greens that were available were atrocious. Holes in them, water laying under them and people not repairing pitch marks. Was not impressed at all, I know we have had bad weather, but the course should be closed to give it a chance to recover. Also wasn't told about the poor conditions by reception staff. Not good.Reviewer Rating

Winter Golf
Course was soggy but very playable. Some of the greens have lifted due to the water level and you do wonder if a couple of days closure would help. (Controversial I know). Club house great, staff super friendly as always. Facilities could do with air line to clean trolley and shoes.Reviewer Rating

Good course ?
Very good for beginners just enough challenge to keep interest for more experienced players. I played thursday14-12-23@ 1118, started to rain so waterproofs on then T off. Quite a good round joined another pair on the 5th hole and we had a good time.Try it &the 19th hole is good to.Reviewer Rating

Trogg
Excellent public golf course, offering great value and decent layout. The Par 3s are all challenging. My only criticism is that there is only 1 par 5.Probably at its best anytime except winter.

Ok Municipal, nothing special
This was my first visit here, with a 16 strong society. Starting with the ?Clubhouse? ? this has more of a caf? feel than a traditional bar. Didn't seem really big enough for any kind of ?Function?, and I'm not aware of any further space within the building for that use. Pro-shop was separate, but was closed by the time we came off the course. I was told it is expensive. There is a 40 bay driving range with shot-tracker, which apparently is so busy you have to book to use it, but apparently the ?bar? will deliver snacks/drinks to the seating area behind the bays while you wait.As a society, we had breakfast which was good, and our first tee was around 11.30, which (the day after the clocks went back) gave us only just enough time to get round before it was dark. There was torrential rain the day before our round, which left the greens and paths very wet, and with a lot of mud around.
This is the first course I've played in some years where all 18 tees were on ?temporary mats?, and whilst the mats were large and level, this was not very pleasing. I only visited one bunker which seemed well stocked with sand, and was fairly well presented/raked. Fairways also seemed fairly good, but again wet because of the weather, and the greens were slow because of the previous rain, but looked reasonable otherwise.
I think I?d like to play this when it's dry, as the holes seemed quite interesting, but I'm not going to rush back.
