Golf in Sync Training Aid Review

By: Matt Holbrook | Tue 21 Feb 2017 | Comments ()

Golfshake ambassador and 11 handicap golfer Matt Holdbrook recently took the time to test out the new Golf in Sync training aid.

Golf in Sync is a short game training aid designed with Pitching, Chipping, Bunker shots and Putting in mind.

The simple yet effective method of keeping your arms connected through the swing is picking up pace in the UK and Matt Holbrook got the chance to test it out.

Golf in Sync

Tech Specs

Nothing to technical too it. Golf in Sync comes in 2 parts:

  • An 'alignment' rod with a clip on the end is attached to your club with the rod part sticking out at the top.
  • An arm band with a loop for the 'rod' is attached to the arm and once the rod is in place you slide it through the loop on the armband.

There is also a velcro strap which can further connect the Golf in Sync rod to the shaft of the club when being used for Chipping and Putting

Feel

When I first tried the Golf in Sync it did take a bit of getting used to especially when you are using the Velcro strap for chipping and putting.

Ultimately you are trying to swing a golf club with a rod under your arm but after a while you start to see the benefit in the shots you are trying to hit. Eventually you will get to a stage where you hardly notice the rod.

Performance

I noticed the difference pretty much straight away, getting a better swing and better results, particularly with the pitching element and the bunker shots.

My arms felt so much more connected throughout the swing and the results were clear for me to see.

I will stick with the Golf in Sync for chipping and putting as it did take me more time to get used to the feel of having something attached to my club however based on the improvements on other areas I can see the benefit.

Pros

I like the fact this particular training aid is very geared towards my short game - an area I had identified I was going to work most on this year.

It's easy to set up and get to grips with and after 5 or 10 minutes of use you should see the benefits.

It will also fit into your bag nicely!

Cons

I feel that potentially it may need some further guidance when you first put it to use. I was worried that I had set it up wrong to begin with. However there are some easy to follow videos on YouTube that will come in handy.

Personally I felt the price was a tiny bit steep. That said at £55 that's less than 2 lessons and a dozen and half balls for some people. Like anything when you put a price on it, if you can justify the cost in seeing the results then its probably a bargain!

Bottom line

All in all its a good little training aid that should be able to help out most golfers. I always ask myself if it is something I would buy once I had tested it - a firm yes as I have seen the results.

I'd rate Golf in Sync 7 out of 10.
