Fairmont St Andrews Travel VLOG

By: Golfshake Editor | Tue 21 Aug 2018

Visiting St Andrews is a pilgrimage and essential experience for any golfer. The spiritual Home of Golf is an undeniably iconic and magical place, a picturesque town with a rich and living history, breathing through its many courses, narrow streets, and internationally renowned university. There is nowhere else quite like it.

To accommodate the incredible number of visitors who descend upon this corner of Fife on Scotland's east coast, the old town is packed with hotels and bed & breakfasts. However, just outside the boundaries, overlooking St Andrews Bay and gazing back from the clifftops towards the Auld Grey Toun and its two beaches - the East and West Sands - is the spectacular Fairmont St Andrews, which is a hugely popular and highly regarded establishment that would be a striking destination on its own.

Fairmont St Andrews Kittocks Course Feature Review

Within Fairmont, which opened in the June of 2001, this five-star resort boasts an award-winning Spa, an impressive array of dining options, and two golf courses - the Kittocks and Torrance. The hotel has been used as a venue for the Scottish Senior Open and served as a Final Qualifying Venue for both the 2017 Women's British Open at Kingsbarns and 2018 Senior Open Championship at the Old Course, St Andrews.

Fairmont St Andrews is rated Highly Recommended by Golfshake Members and features in the Golfshake Top 100

Golfshake had the opportunity to spend a couple of nights at Fairmont in May 2018, as part of our A Golfing Odyssey, and Owen Davies has created this VLOG showcasing the attraction of the resort, including the stunning interior, the breathtaking views back towards the town, the challenges of the scenic courses, and the proximity it has to the legendary town of St Andrews, which makes the Fairmont St Andrews a destination that golfers and holidaymakers should consider.
